A small senior team in Västerås, Sweden — building production-grade sites, headless storefronts, and long-running technical partnerships for product companies across the Nordics and the EU.
We work in long, focused engagements with a small list of clients at a time. Every brief is led by a senior engineer — not handed off — so the person who scopes the work is the same person who writes the code and ships it.
Marketing sites, content platforms, member areas, and bespoke web applications. We design the information architecture with you, then engineer it on a stack that fits the team you have today — not a stack that needs five new hires to maintain.
Headless storefronts, Stripe and Klarna integrations, conversion-focused checkouts, and the kind of unglamorous backend plumbing that decides whether your store survives Black Friday. We work on Shopify Hydrogen, WooCommerce, and custom platforms.
A two-week deep audit of a live product: Core Web Vitals, security posture, accessibility, SEO architecture, and a prioritised remediation plan. We deliver a written report plus a working session with your engineering lead.
A predictable monthly block of senior engineering time for teams that don't need a full hire but do need someone reliable on call. One named lead, transparent ticket log, and a hard ceiling on the rate so your finance team doesn't get surprises.
We started 2019 as two engineers freelancing out of a shared kitchen and a slightly over-confident Slack workspace. Seven years later we're a studio of seven — engineers, a designer, and a project lead who keeps the rest of us honest about deadlines.
We took a deliberate decision early on to stay small. There's no junior dev pipeline, no growth target, no offshore team waiting in the wings. The person who scopes your project is the same person who pushes the code and answers the email at month end.
The studio sits on the second floor of a converted warehouse on Kopparbergsvägen — five minutes from Västerås Central station, decent coffee, and a window that does not open in winter. You're welcome to visit. We'll feed you cardamom buns.
A handful of recent engagements. We sign NDAs more often than we don't, so a few client names have been generalised — happy to walk through any of these in a call.
Rebuilt the dispatcher console from a four-year-old PHP monolith into a streaming interface with sub-second updates. Cut average dispatch latency by 71% and removed a full-time-equivalent of manual entry from the operations team.
Moved an aging Magento store onto a Shopify Hydrogen front-end with a custom Stripe + Klarna checkout. Page weight dropped from 4.1MB to 680KB and conversion lifted +18.4% on mobile across the first quarter post-launch.
Designed and engineered a multi-tenant booking platform with on-site kiosk mode, staff rota integration, and Stripe-powered membership billing. Now serving over 38 000 bookings a month with a single part-time admin.
Designed and built the public marketing site plus a gated investor data room for a climate-tech Series-A round. Shipped in eleven working days from kickoff to live URL, with a writing pass from the founder embedded in our flow.
“They don't oversell, they don't pad the timeline, and they push back when we're about to do something stupid. The dispatcher console they shipped runs the business now — that's not an exaggeration.”
“Hired them for a two-week audit. We found 31 issues, the team rewrote our checkout, and they stuck around for the launch. Felt like an internal team.”
“The kind of studio that writes a real handover document. Six months after the project ended I still understand my own platform — that's rare.”
“We needed someone reliable on retainer, not another agency relationship. Three years in and they're effectively our half-time CTO at half the cost.”
One call, no pitch deck. We'll tell you in 30 minutes whether we're a fit, and we'll be honest if we're not. The next intake window opens on the first working Monday of the month.

This privacy notice explains how devstackorbit ("we", "us") collects, uses and protects information you give us through this website and through any project or retainer engagement we run for you. We are based in Sweden and we operate under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
devstackorbit is registered in Sweden under organisation number 559218-4471, with its registered studio at Kopparbergsvägen 24B, 722 13 Västerås. The data controller for personal data collected through this site is the studio itself.
Through the contact form on this site we collect the name, email, phone number, company name, engagement type, indicative budget and free-text description that you choose to submit. We also collect a timestamp of submission. Through standard web logs we collect IP address, user-agent string and request paths for security and abuse-prevention purposes; these logs are kept for 30 days and then deleted.
Contact form submissions are processed on the lawful basis of legitimate interest — replying to an enquiry you have voluntarily sent us — and where applicable on the basis of pre-contractual steps at the request of the data subject. Server logs are processed on the lawful basis of legitimate interest in keeping the service available and secure.
If your enquiry does not lead to a project, we retain the submission for 12 months and then delete it. If your enquiry leads to a paid engagement, contract-related personal data is retained for the duration of the engagement and for a further 7 years to satisfy Swedish bookkeeping law (Bokföringslagen 1999:1078).
We do not sell personal data and we do not share it with advertisers. We use a small number of carefully chosen processors to run the studio, all bound by data processing agreements: a transactional email provider in the EU for sending replies, a cloud hosting provider in the EU for running this site, and a payment processor (Stripe Payments Europe, Ltd.) when invoicing clients. A current list is available on request to studio@devstackorbit.com.
Under GDPR you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or port the personal data we hold about you, and the right to object to its processing. You can exercise any of these rights by writing to us at the email above; we'll respond within 30 days. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection (Integritetsskyddsmyndigheten, IMY).
This website uses one strictly necessary cookie to remember your cookie preference. If you accept cookies via the banner, we additionally set a single first-party analytics cookie that records anonymised, aggregated usage of this site. We do not run any third-party advertising or tracking scripts. See the cookie notice for details.
We may update this notice from time to time, for example to reflect changes in the way we operate or in the law. The date at the top of the document is the date of the last revision. We encourage you to check back occasionally.

These terms govern the use of devstackorbit.com (the "site") and any web development, audit or retainer services we provide. By using the site or engaging us for paid work, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site or commission services from us.
devstackorbit is a Swedish-registered studio (org. 559218-4471) operating from Kopparbergsvägen 24B, 722 13 Västerås, Sweden.
This site is provided for informational and contact purposes. You may browse, save and share its public content. You may not scrape it for the purposes of training automated systems without prior written permission, attempt to disrupt its operation, or use the contact form to send unsolicited commercial messages.
Any paid service we provide — a build, audit, retainer or one-off engineering block — is governed by a separate written statement of work (SOW) signed by both parties. The SOW takes precedence over these terms in case of conflict, but these terms apply where the SOW is silent. Where no SOW is signed (for example a fixed-fee audit purchased through the site), the description of the package on the site at the time of purchase forms the agreed scope.
Prices on the site are quoted in Swedish kronor (SEK) and are exclusive of Swedish VAT (moms) at 25%. For build and audit work we typically invoice 50% on signature and 50% on delivery; for retainers we invoice monthly in advance. Payment terms are net 14 unless otherwise agreed. Late payments accrue statutory interest under the Swedish Interest Act (Räntelagen).
All services are delivered digitally, via shared repositories, hosted environments, written documents or video calls. We are not obliged to deliver physical media or on-site staffing unless explicitly agreed in the SOW. Estimated delivery dates given on the site are indicative; firm dates are agreed per project.
On full payment of all invoices for an engagement, ownership of the bespoke source code, design files and written deliverables produced specifically for you transfers to you. We retain ownership of pre-existing studio tooling, internal frameworks, and any general know-how acquired during the engagement; we license these to you on a perpetual, royalty-free basis to use in the deliverables. We may reference the engagement in our portfolio in line with what is publicly known about your business, unless an NDA says otherwise.
Audit packages purchased through the site are eligible for a full refund within 14 days of purchase, provided we have not yet started work. After work has commenced, we refund any unused portion of the fee on a pro-rata basis less reasonable costs already incurred. For retainers, either party may cancel with 30 days written notice; unused hours in a paid month are not refundable but roll over to the notice period.
Nothing in these terms limits liability for fraud, willful misconduct, or anything that cannot be limited under Swedish law. Subject to that, our total liability for any claim arising out of an engagement is capped at the fees paid to us under that engagement in the 12 months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including lost profits.
These terms and any engagement governed by them are subject to Swedish law. Disputes will be resolved by the Swedish general courts, with Västerås tingsrätt as the court of first instance, unless otherwise required by mandatory consumer-protection law.
We may update these terms from time to time. The version in force at the time you submit an enquiry or sign an SOW applies to that engagement.
